The Western Electric and Northern Electric 1011 Handsets, also known as the Dial Hand Test Set, were introduced around 1939 and played a pivotal role in inspiring the Trimline design decades later.
It featured various configurations:
- 1011A: Manual
- 1011B: Small 103A dial
- 1011C and 1011G: 3″ 6A dial, 346A plug, and included assorted cords and specialty connectors to accommodate different testing equipment.
- Equipped with F1 and HA1 elements
For convenient portability, a KS-16360 Snap was available separately. This snap facilitated the attachment of the handset to a lineman’s belt, ensuring easy and secure transportation.
